These recognitions celebrate those who demonstrate leadership, innovation, and a strong commitment to advancing economic growth and enhancing quality of life throughout Buffalo County. This year, the Development Council selected The City of Gibbon to receive this recognition. The City of Gibbon has taken a proactive approach to growth under the leadership of Mayor Deb VanMatre and City Administrator Matt Smallcomb. Recent projects—including a new community center, expanded fire hall, and planned downtown improvements—demonstrate a clear vision for the future. Gibbon’s partnership with the Development Council and efforts to develop industrial opportunities further reinforce its role in driving regional progress.
