Starostka Group Unlimited Inc. on Tuesday will request the Kearney City Councils approval to develop a 38-acre tract in east Kearney.
Starostka Group is the developer of the Millennial Estates subdivision in east Kearney. The Meadows — as the new development will be named — will be similar to Millennial Estates because it will be mostly residential in nature.
According to a memo to the City Council from City Planner Melissa Dougherty-OHara, Starostka plans to carve out 66 lots on the 38-acre tract. The lots will range in size from 7,280 square feet to 14,978 square feet.
The property is bound by 39th Street and the previously platted Meadows First Addition to the south, agricultural land to the west and north, and a residential development to the east.
Starostka is requesting to rezone the property from AG and R-2/PD to R-1D and R-3. The area zoned AG is not currently in city limits; however, the area zoned R-2/PD was annexed during the Meadows First Addition.
The Kearney Planning Commission unanimously advanced Starostkas requests to the City Council during the planners Feb. 21 meeting.
Tuesdays council meeting is open to the public and begins at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 18 E. 22nd St.
