Development Council for Buffalo County's Amanda Polacek has been selected as a member of the latest The Nebraska Early Childhood Policy Leadership Academy (PLA).
PLA is a nonpartisan leadership development program focused on preparing advocates to play an active role in shaping policies that affect the early care, education and healthy development of young children. Participants in the program learn alongside experts with extensive experience in grassroots advocacy and policy advisement at the state and federal levels, and build grassroots advocacy skills to help shape critical public conversations on policies that support the care, education and healthy development of young children.
Now in its eighth year, PLA has graduated more than 200 alumni from 63 Nebraska counties. It remains the state's premier nonpartisan leadership program dedicated to building momentum for policies that champion our youngest children and their families.
In her professional role, Amanda helps facilitate desirable economic growth and development in the Kearney area. She believes access to early childhood education is essential for thriving communities and strong local economies.
Her passion is rooted in personal experience as a parent, previous work in corporate healthcare administration and her current role as a community convener.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a Master of Business Administration from Capella University. She and her husband, Nate, have three children.
